Petcock compatibility: CB750F1 & F2
« on: June 02, 2016, 01:20:13 PM »
I'm running a '77 750K motor on my '76 750F. The newer K's/F's came with PD carbs and a different petcock who's supply nipple exits the body out the side, as opposed to pointing down. I'm about to clean a failing liner out of my tank and I'm thinking about swapping to the newer petcock so that I no longer have to run a fuel line around the outside of my carbs to keep it from kinking. I guess my only question is: are the bungs the same size on the old F & new F tanks? If so, seems like I can make an easy swap.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Nope. That's the only real difference in 75/76 and 77/78 F tanks.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
