I just got done with my 71 cb750 lower end and it has a plate that helps keep the bearing in place when reassembling the cases.  It does not appear to have any other function.

This part is missing from my 74 cb750.  I tried getting one out of a 76 and a 76f and the part was missing.  Was this only available on the earlier year models.

I am pointer to where it would normally go.

auto chain oiler pan attaches there....yes, it was discontinued at some point.

Thank You so much!  I owe ya one.  Now to put it back together as I am using a low mileage 76f transet 9,500 mile I will not have to worry about it.

Trans oiler plate will have to remember that.  I hate that darn oiler anyway.

No worries.  Came across the same thing going from my K1 to F3 engines
