Thanks George................According to published data, the salt was a little over 3-feet thick BEFORE THE MINING BEGAN. Now it is almost nothing. But with modest grading, compacting, dragging, and a lot of sunshine with VERY LITTLE OR NO RAIN for the next few months, the courses can be prepared.
BTW.........on the other side of those little mountains in the distance to the NW of the Bonneville area, good salt exists that could be used for racing..........the problem is its something more than 30 miles from Wendover so access and support facilities would be challenging.
I plan to leave on August 23rd...........I have one seat left to fill in my van..........and maybe room for a bike or 2 in my 20-foot trailer. Anyone interested?
