Cb750 field coil resistance
« on: June 04, 2016, 05:05:39 AM »
Would a field cool @ 8.3 ohms cause a no charging issue? I've had my dohc reg/rect wired incorrectly and it was charging at like 16v...wired the field coil correctly now it only charges about .6v over whatever the battery is at.

Shouldn't your voltage regulator regulate your voltage?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

It should be mis-word a combo DOHC Reg/Rec unit. 16v to the battery probably cooked your battery.  :-\ If you'd post a year and model for the bike in question, we could give you confirmation of the ohms from the field coil  ???

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
