New to the board...
« on: June 07, 2016, 07:58:11 PM »
Greetings from CT...

Can't say that I have a SOHC/4 bike - I ride an 85 Gold Wing Aspencade and I am looking to upgrade it to a big V-twin that I can mod into an over-the-road bike.  Currently leaning towards a Vulcan 1700 from Kawi or a VTX1800 from Honda.

Although I'm looking for a non-SOHC bike, I really enjoy working on the Gold Wing.  So I thought maybe a project bike would be in order once I have the next bike outfitted the way I want.  Growing up, my dad had a 1977 CB750F (black) equipped with a Windjammer fairing.  Since I thought it was the coolest bike EVER, I think it would be really fun to modify one from that era.  Maybe even get my son to help me.

I have not decided on a direction for modifying, but I'm leaning towards a cafe racer style with some modern flair (blacked out engine, black spokes, wider tires, painted frame, colored forks, etc).

Anyways, whether this project becomes a reality or turns into a pipe dream, looking forward to learning more about the CB750.

Cheers!

- Pete
