I have a huge car background and I did the MSF course last August to get my motorcycle license. Been wanting a bike ever since, I've toyed the idea of getting a supersport as a first bike, then a naked sport bike, but I did some more research and came to a conclusion that I wanted something with a similar intent as my car. I drive a Honda S2000 and that thing was made for raw driving enthusiasm with its smooth and linear powerband. I wanted that same feeling from a motorcycle and I've read the CB400F is the closest thing to that, so that's what I've searched for. It took me 4 months to find a decent deal on one and I had to drive all the way down to Beaverton, Oregon to pick it up. It's not stock and I found out that the frame has been slightly modified after I brought it home, but those are things I'm looking to fix. It's in really good condition with barely any rust, the owner told me all it needed was a carb clean and a battery and it should start right up, which I'm going to get to this weekend. This is my first bike and it'll be a learning process along the way and I'm okay with that with a bike this old, and I can't wait to get it started!
