Recently there was a guy at work (key word is "was") that had a Hyabusa that he couldn't keep his hand out of the throttle, he would pass me coming to work at 100+ mph at around 5:45 AM before the sun even came out yet. Well I noticed I hadn't seen him at work in a while so I asked what happened and it turned out he had gotten busted doing 150+ then tried outrunning the cops ....... with his wife on back with him. He eventually stopped and being he was already on probation for something he went straight to jail. I don't know what he was on probation for but seeing how stupid he rode the bike it didn't surprise me that he got busted for it.

Fun Fact - the government of Japan politely asked Suzuki to cease production of the Hyabusa.  After the machine was involved in the highest number of motorcycle fatalities their highway patrol had ever seen.

So you could tell by that mangled pile of what's left of a bike that it was a Hayabusa.

No, it was a side tangent.

The frame in the video looked similar to a CBR

Edit: just noticed the suzuki sticker on a piece the wrecker folks picked up.

Unfortunately, the same high-risk personality trait that attracts people to bikes also attracts said individuals to make poor decisions on bikes.

Uhmmm....I used to pass my boss, a part-time cop, at speeds in excess of 75mph with straight pipes and would try to time the shifting to when I right beside him. My bad. Never went by him at over 120mph though.....

Isn't the gsxr actually quicker than the busa? It's a power to weight ratio thing.

Guy in the article was not lane splitting, he was driving recklessly. Lane splitting is a controlled pass in the space between lanes and at fairly low speed differential to the slow or stopped 4 wheeled traffic. I don't recall ever seeing anyone lane splitting in NJ, but I've seen a noticeable amount weaving through traffic recklessly at a high speed differential to traffic. Typically squids

Lane splitting (and filtering as well) is a good thing, keeps congestion down so everyone gets where they're going faster. I wish it were legal everywhere, but it'll never happen in this miserable liberal police state.

"Lane splitting is a controlled pass in the space between lanes and at fairly low speed differential to the slow or stopped 4 wheeled traffic."

I guess most guys that lane split forgot to read that part about slow or stopped traffic. That's why i don't want ti legalized in our state. I've already seen guys lane splitting at 70+.

Only a couple of weeks ago i was filtering to the front of the pack between two rows  of stopped cars, The car on the left at the front turned his wheel to the right and drove about a metre forward to try and stop me.  I lightly clipped the right side cars mirror with mine.   By the time i waved to that car the light turned green and thought, just get away from the mongrel in the ute to my left.
