Why was Velocity Stack Thread removed?
« on: June 16, 2016, 01:11:58 PM »
I responded to a thread and now it is gone, Why was it removed?

[quote author=JWilde "Now that im getting new wheels built, Ive been thinking:

I have airpods on my bike (350F) its been rejetted etc. Bike runs great. Ive been hearing that V stacks actually run a little better than pods. PLUS they look better.

Thoughts? Yea or nay?

Saw some nice black ones at 4into1 and im thinking...." [/quote]

My reply

"They filter little if any crap getting into the carbs and motor. Nor do they filter any water that may get splashed into the openings. We never plan on riding in the rain, but Mother Nature has her own ideas on that. They also may only run better at certain RPM's and not across the whole power band. While your bike may be running good with the pods I have never seen a dyno result showing the pods alone making more power than the stock airbox. "

While I was most thankful for your response, I removed it. Since, via the post, it became clear that V Stacks are detrimental to engine health, which caused me to decide not to get them, combined with the fact I later found multiple threads on the issue, I deleted it.

Could've left it for posterity sake.  Just sayin.

Sometimes the short and sweet threads are the ones that make forum info searches simpler!

It is now saved for posterity in my initial response here. Since when can a whole thread with replies be deleted. I don't have a problem with members deleting their posts, but not mine.

It's really not in the best interest of the whole forum to edit threads like this? I've been looking to this forum for years for real hands-on experience to help me determine problems/ tuning questions I might have. Whether good or bad, positive or negative it helps others to learn from the vast knowledge of the posters here...
