Slip-on options
« on: June 13, 2016, 01:21:04 PM »
I have discover that the muffler on my CB750F1 is shot, but the manifold pipes are fine. Anyone recommend a good option for a slip-on muffler? The exhaust is off a F2-F3 if that makes a difference in choices.

I'm also open to offers if someone has something laying around that they want to get rid of. I'm just working towards getting the bike running good at this moment, then comes the time of throwing the $$$ at it.

The cone engineering silencers are popular.

Otherwise, scour ebay for motorcycle exhaust.  If you know your pipe/collector tubing outer diameter you should be able to find something neat!

Im running the CONE 18" quiet-er core.  No complaints.   Good quality and sound.

I have a Cone Eng Quiet-er core (not quiet really) sounds awesome, and mine is on a F3 header .. I had to pick up a couple exhaust spacer "step-up" pipes where the muffler connects to the stock header.... only because the Header collector is about 2 1/8" Outer Diameter and the closest cone muffler was 2 1/4  so I had to make up that difference... Just basically a little sleeve. I put a bit of exhaust tape right where they connect so they don't leak with some HD clamps and rockin and rollin.

Thanks guys. Those seem to be a good options and a good way to fab up an entire custom exhaust. I was hoping for a $50-$80 option. Now I'm thinking of welding a patch over the gaping hole till I have the funds for an entire new exhaust.

Any opinions on cherry bombs?

For $50-80 you'll definitely want to peruse the ebay selection.

There are a couple of growler cans at that price point.

They'll make your bike sound loud like a open header V8 tho.
