My clutch has been slipping lately so I ordered and received a new set of Honda clutch springs. On Wednesday afternoon I'm going away for a couple of weeks and my CB750K2 is my only transportation right now, so avoiding down time when I'm home is critical. The plan was to pull the clutch apart Wednesday morning to install the springs and I'll check all the plates and discs while I'm in there. That way if I find anything that needs to be replaced I can order the parts on my way to the airport and collect them on the way back in.
I've heard about various ways clutches are modified to reduce rattle but I couldn't find specific information on parts numbers. I've also heard there is a cheaper fix and a more expensive and effective fix but still no specific parts listed. I'm told there is even a service bulletin on the subject but couldn't find it, just mentions of it.
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=7979.0Is it worth the trouble to swap all these parts out or is it a minor improvement? Are Honda clutch parts the way to go? Anything else I need to know? Yes, I already have the special tool for pulling the clutch.
