Well I ordered a bunch of parts for the ole girl. The purist in me stepped aside and got the spoke wheels for it instead of the "comstars?" Style wheels.
Since these bikes aren't outfitted with a kickstart, I can't see if the engine will even turnover - so I can see how much of a headache I've gotten myself into. So instead I hooked up all the electronics I could, all the wires where they belong and tried to hook up a battery instead to see if I could use the starter...
I'm no electrical guru - plug and play mostly, but after I hook up one lead, after trying to hook up the other spark jumps from the lead to the battery, while trying to tighten the screw down.
I know in a normal automobile, this is normal if you have something on - lights, key turned on etc., but I don't think this is normal for a bike if the ignition is in the OFF position and the kill switch is engaged.
I'm going to trace through the wiring to make sure there isn't any bare grounds touching, but are there any other thoughts?
