When i looked on ebay.com and found the kawasaki one it would not let me search the seller as it said nothing available to my are,UK, which probably means he wont ship to here, but i can get a mate in Nashville to purchase and send on so no problem.
At that price i may try one although for the miles i do its not really needed but would save cleaning crud from points every year
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

OK, I had same issue when searching within ebay.co.uk which is my normal base.

Found the ignition on ebay.au as Terry might have used.
Changed to ebay.com and ordered.

Strange with such limitations.

Yep I bought two as well Per, the seller had a “or best offer so I offered 40 bucks each for two and he accepted. They’re on Amazon too, I bought one for a Z1/Z1000 and it was delivered to Oz in under a week, and apart from the fact that it came in a flimsy box with no installation instructions, looks exactly like a modern Dyna.

Mark, the K2 engine that had a condensor fail looked like the ignition had been in there since new, definitely not a recent installation. Over here in Oz electronic ignitions have been really popular since “back in the day” so it would be rare for someone here to replace a points ignition with another points ignition. Yep I’ve sold several CB750 starters to Kawasaki guys, it’s a pity that the Japanese made Kokusan electronics are so poor compared to what we have in out Honda’s. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

And this is what you get for $48 ("Or best offer") on Ebay. Looks exactly like a Dyna S, but no instructions. Not a problem, I've probably installed a dozen Dyna's into different CB750's over the years, and of course Google is you friend. For all I know there are no electronics inside, but I'll install one into my K0 on the weekend and see if actually works. ;D

Look good Terry.
I might regret that I only ordered 2! ;D

Dyna's installation guide is more like a complex fault tracing guide.

I take for granted that it works from the very beginning.

One important step is the orientation of the rotor which Dyna explain with words, not a picture/drawing.
But if wrong swap the yellow, blue wires and it will work. Fix the rotor, connect as it should.

I'll do like this:
(as on both my bikes)

Stock CB750 advancer, cut both springs 1/2 wound and reshape a loop on springs were cut.
Rotor will now have spring force from the very beginning.

Remove old rotor, in with "Dyna" rotor.  Lube shaft before.
There is a dot on its side, this must be oriented at the left when you hold advance plate 1:4 up.
Mount the plate on bike, middle position

Connect red to 12V.
I have a dedicated wire with own hanging fuse from a relay my ignition is fed by. Otherwise connect to ignition black/white wire to coils. Possible to use the blue plastic thing in the kit.

Connect yellow and blue as the old stock ignition was connected.

Start engine and fine adjust with timing lamp, connected to 1:4.
Since springs were cut, ignition can be timed at 1000-1200 rpm and run fine.
Full advance at around 2700 rpm.
Check 2:3 too. If wrong, advancer stud might be bent, check that before adjusting the 2:3 part with the allen tool.

The kit look like this except for a label. I have 2 blue empty boxes for the new kits.

I told a friend about this low priced  ignition.
He bought 2,  installed one on a bike that ran fine.
He is a retired guy fixing others bikes and engines in his garage.

Talk about a "knock off", it even uses the same DS1-2 model number as the Dyna ignition! While the Dyna S is American made, at $174 it starts to become tough to justify when you can get three imported ones and have enough left over for a "two-four"...

I do try to avoid sending money to China when possible, but it can be difficult, if not downright impossible at times.  :(

Is that blue 'connector', upper left in the pic, also in the original Dyna set? Hard to believe; it's notorious unreliable for connecting conductors.

I'm pretty sure it is included in the original Dyna kits and I agree, I would never use such a pi$$ poor connector for anything. It grates on me to even see these used on trailer wiring...  :(

I've disconnected many of those blue splicers over the years when buying 750's with Vetter fairings. Definitely hard on the wires when removed.

We called those blue connectors scotchlocks, one left my brother in the dark once when his windjammer headlight went out. He used the light from my bike to stay in the line of bikes we were in.

This is the box I got with the Dyna-S I bought September 2021.
The blue splicer included and not used. It makes the kit complete.

The kits look the same except the box.
I guess that some sellers sell the cheaper ones for full price.

The real ones might be produced in China too as so much other parts and electronics from well known companies?

I'll see what differs in a week or 2 if nothing goes wrong with order or shipping.

Next will be low priced coils?
An extra set of 5 ohm coils for $50 US would be fine.

Yep that’s them, I haven’t measured the resistance for either winding but they throw a nice fat spark with an electronic ignition. ;D

Good to have extra. I have a set of Dyna 5 ohms on the shelf that I planned for my ongoing build.

The lower priced ignition parts can live up that build.

Good to have spares anyway.

Thanks for that link Per, I just bought another pair. Couldn’t find any on Ebay Australia anywhere as cheap so bought those ones with free shipping. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Who knows? There may even be a Harley in my future...  :o  ;)

Don't knock it until you've tried it mate, I love my American made Harley.
Cheers, Terry. ;D

I've ridden a few. A Dyna Glide, a Switchback, and even a stretched out custom that was right at 10 feet long (three meters for you metric users  ;) ). I could certainly find one I could live with! Of course, I enjoy just about any sort of two wheel conveyance, although a bicycle is too much like work sometimes...  ;D

Yep, bicycles are over-rated, but can easily be turned into useful vehicles, just by stuffing as many engines as you can fit into one............... ;D

Hey, Terry:
Shouldn't that thing have a dragster slick in the back?
:D

It’s even quicker since I replaced those exhausts with proper expansion chambers Mark, but sadly not a patch on some of the electric bicycle kits available now, I think I’ll have to buy an electric bicycle kit now, for some reason they’re legal while my twin engined bicycle definitely isn’t. Ridiculous, but true. ;D

That is a great price Per! About the same as I paid for the pair with free shipping to Oz, but Eric should be able to stock up on a few sets for that money. ;D

Hurry up Terry and get one in a bike and do a few chicken or meat pie runs so we can see how well they work !! Might buy one or two just to have around, cheaper then points and what are probably crappy condensers nowadays. I'm not against anything that works well and is easy.
The electronic Dyna on my GS1000 has worked great with no problems after I tracked down a problem with the power slice the previous owner half assed put together.  :D
