Does anyone know where to get a petcock that wont drip after the first 6 months of buying it? and does not cost 111.30 on ebay.
for the 78CB750F3 super-sport, this issue is really driving me nuts, i bought a after market one and leaks out of every possible place it can from tank down.
This is really getting into my riding.
And that does not restrict the fuel flow that seems to be a problem with the aftermarket ones also.

WOW! This is actually a post about the original topic title -- a petcock!  754 is right about Pingel petcocks.  I have never had issues with New OEM, only cheapo reproductions.

As for the side discussion on fuel additives, I use Seafoam (and other products) to stabilize ethanol-based gas.  I haven't seen any performance gain from the numerous different additives on my CBs, but I haven't dyno'd the bike specifically to test that proposition.  I just add some stabilizer to keep the ethanol from gumming up my carburetors.

Ethanol also pulls water into vented tanks and separates.
Looks like salad dressing!

Old school stabilizers don't help much with that.
It isn't like old fuel that used to "varnish"

The $111.30 for an OEM petcock is money well spent.

So if you ran it at 80 for 20 minutes,  that would get you at least. 25 miles away....
So if you living one of the boroughs...Can you just get on the nearest freeway and ride like that?

who is to say I remained in the boroughs last night. What if I went out to long island? What if i went up the west side highway? What if I went up to westchester and over the Bridge? What if I was on the Sprain Brook....?

Why not just say what you did then, instead of what you COULD have done.

Were you in second while you were going 80 for 20 minutes?

It's easier to break the 100mph barrier when you can make 90 in 4th.

Christ, I hate to wade back into these #$%*ty waters but CB350Fs don't do 100mph without serious modifications or speedometer malfunctions, and they don't do 80mph in second. Their top speed from the factory was supposedly 98mph, but that's an optimistic estimate on a factory fresh engine (probably going downhill with a tail wind or dropped out of an airplane).

I have a feeling I'm going to regret this post.

No its cool. Youre entitled to your opinion and I dont mind one bit.

By far, the internet caters to ppl who like to speak to what "cant"be done.

As far as the bike,  I was on itand I know how fast it went, and this time out I said I did 80 in 4th.

I'm right with you there, chicken.  80/85 was about the fastest I could get on my 350F, and I say 80/85 because needle bounce is all over the place on stock clocks ;D  My bike was well sorted and I tried many times to go faster.   Such a light bike that passing most cars really pushes you around.  Too sketchy even on new AM26's.

I'll second that the wind def pushes you around as that happens to me (and esp as NYC is windy this time of year as high pressure fronts come and go).

However, I have no idea why ppl continually debate other ppls experiences as though life and death hinge on it. Its a bike. Whether it goes 10, 40, 60 or 100mph who cares? Its just not that deep.
