Anyone need Yamaha XS500 parts
« on: December 05, 2006, 06:04:59 PM »
Im parting out a complete XS500 on ebay.  Bike is in great shape w/ 18k miles on it.  The engine has no compression, I believe the PO accidentally ran it out of oil and did some serious damage.  Havnt gotten into the motor yet to see whats salvagable.  If you need parts or know anyone who does check it out.

You might want to post this on the SR500 forum, as well.  Some of the guys there are into all sorts of mid-size Yamaha projects.

Except for the carb, I think my SR500 thumper motor was pretty simple.  The carb was way over-engineered, but it does work well for me.  The motor did well with a very simple mod for oil distribution, as well.

See if you get an bites over at http://sr500forum.proboards38.com/index.cgi?.

Good luck.
