Back in the 1940's, my grandfather gave my uncle a 1915 Indian Power Plus. (1000cc beastie) My dad helped him push it around to his place, anyway, it sat for awhile in the garage, and my great uncle got sick of it just sitting there, so when he was concreting the garage floor he dropped it into a hole and concreted over the top.

My dad, uncle and everyone else in the story are all dead now, but that little house is still there, with the little garage, with the concrete floor............. One day, my cousin and I are going to go get that Indian back. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

"Ran when parked"

If it was found in eastern Germany it was probably more like parked then ran!  ::)
(Assuming it's been there since late '44 or early '45.)

My grandfather was an avid metal detector "treasure hunter".
The biggest thing he ever found was a complete model T engine and transmission buried in my great-grandmothers back yard.
It was in sandy, fairly dry soil and in pretty good condition all things considered. He did sell it for $50 or $75 to some car guy.

I also have a Luftwaffe Flieger chronometer (wrist watch) he found. (In the US)
It's worth about $2K.
