Topic: CB550 vs CB750 Oil Dipstick

Hi, are the 1977 CB550 & 1977 CB750 Oil Dipsticks the same?
Would this fit & work with my CB550k?

 Here is an expensive high tech digital that would replace and mount at the drain plug. Those threads look too course on the 750 plug, doubt it would fit but not a 550 guy.   http://www.speedmotoco.com/product-p/125-24-124.htm

Thanks! But, i find it too expensive and i'd also prefer an analog "oldschool" looking gauge

Best solution IMO is something similar like Pewe has for monitoring battery and charging.

I installed this LED that show me charging OK when driving, blinking status when ignition is off that also look like an alarm. Highly recommended.

  It's simple, intuitive and safe. The LED can be put in the safest spot possible and so, between the two clocks, it will not spoil the looks of your bike*. Who wants to spend money on cheap looking gadgets that isn't even worth the packing it comes in?
* Could be designed and made by one of us. Why is it, with all these experts here, we see so little self builts that really fit our bikes?

I totally agree. I hope someone can make these oil temp gauge dipsticks!

I certainly hope not. Road safety will be compromised. I ment the LED warning. Dipsticks are outright dangerous. Sooner or later you will be tempted to look down at your ankle and probably spreading your right leg to have a good look making things worse. Ever wondered why you never see these gadgets from well known brands that have a reputation to loose?

The 1977 CB750 oil dipstick seems to have a large min/max range.. the whole riveted part is what you use to check oil level?
