Hi, everyone. My name is Andrew Olson. I live with my wife: Tina, in Ohaton, Alberta. I am 43 years ols and have been riding motorcycles since age 10 in 1973. My first bike was a Honda CT70. In 1979 I moved up to a used Suzuki RM125C and started to race motocross in the CMA. The next year I bought my first new bike, a 1980 Yamaha YZ125G. I always sold the old bike to finance the "new" one. Next year it was a new YZ250H, and my last new bike was the next year's YZ125J. After that I slowed things down a little and bought only used bikes. Here's a list: 1982 KX125, 1977 GS550, 1982 RM125Z, 1977 XS500, 1981 RD350LC, 1987 YZ125 (stolen from me), and a 1990 KX125. in 1993 I quit motocross. In 1995 I bought a 1984 Honda VT500FT Ascot  to start my current "collection". In 2006 I decided I wanted a dirt bike, so I bought a 1981 YZ250H project bike with a 1980 YZ250G parts bike. I also bought two YZ125H's (basket cases) and a 2006 Pitster Pro X2R for my wife to learn on. Then I started thinking I wanted something older in a street bike with spoked wheels and as many exhaust pipes as possible, and after looking at many options I ended up with a 1973 CB750K3 for $780. This is by far the "coolest" bike I have ever owned, and I look forward to shining it up and riding it next Spring. I'm very happy see this website as it will help me with my "new" Honda.

Hey Andrew, Welcome to the forum. You have made a wise purchase and have done well by finding this site. Take and post a bunch of pictures and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Now is the time of the year to start all of the projects that will get you up and running for the spring riding season. I don't know what the season is like in Alberta but I can tell you I used to live in Wyoming and our's was pretty short. Talk to you later.

Welcome, Andrew.  I agree with the "as many pipes as possible and spoked wheels" bit, not to mention a kick start.  ;)

Thanks for the replies, guys. I have posted a picture in the member's gallery under Andrew Olson. By the way: I'm not old, my YZ is.

Hello again. I thought I'd try to bump my old introduction up since I've returned to SOHC4 after a long absence, and had to sign up again as it seems my membership expired. I was in a car accident just after I joined and my CB750K is still not running. This spring I finally got around to restarting my project. I have started with cleaning/rebuilding the carbs, petcock and caliper. I am now waiting for carb kits to arrive at my local Honda dealer. Soon after that I hope to get my engine started for the first time since 2004 (year of the plate that was on the bike when I bought it). Over the last few years I did some cosmetic work on the bike, so it has a new seat cover, spray can paint job, and lower handlebars with new grips.

My bike used to be brown. I hate brown so I spraypainted it black and put on some K0-style tank stripes. I can't find my picture or the Member's Gallery so I'll post a recent pic of the bike. Some of the parts, like the gas tank trim, are just "hung on there" for the picture. I'll post the picture when I recover it from the hard drive of the old computer, which blew a capacitor in the motherboard a few days ago.

Here is my bike as bought, and a few months ago before I took it apart. When finished, it should still look like the second picture but with new tires. I have high hopes for the engine, as it only has about 10,000 km on it.
