Checking for a plugged exhaust
« on: June 22, 2016, 05:31:26 PM »
How can you check for a plugged or overly restrictive exhaust without actually taking it off?

I really don't want to dismount that system unless I have to, but the bike is acting like it's having problems moving exhaust.

It had a Yoshi on it when I bought it, I swapped that out for a stock system simply because the Yoshi didn't fit well.  Trouble is the stock system was, well, it was used and for all I know there's some serious buildup in those cans.

Guess the simplest way is to gauge the strength holding your hand behind it.

Certainly seems reasonable.

My first inclination would be to do exactly what I don't want to do - remove it and see for myself.  I'm knocking myself out trying to eliminate the CDI as the cause for my ills.

<sigh>  Off she goes then - no substitute for doing it right I guess.
