Powder coat on the end of swingarm pivot tube
« on: June 22, 2016, 07:04:54 PM »
Just picked up my beautifully powder coated frame and swingarm, and I'm excited to get to it. I noticed that when they masked things off, they only masked the inside of the swingarm pivot tube -- I assume this is a problem given that the swingarm operates at fairly tight tolerances. Is it all good if I just hit it with some sandpaper til I see bare metal?

Can you show us a picture of the area in question?
It took 10 years but she's finally done!

I've used a Dremal tool in similar situations.

I don't see the problem.? Do you mean enforcement of the tube?  Clean it off with a file..

It should still fit fine, tap it in with a rubber mallet. If not , then just sand it down enough to fit.

+1  If anything it will make for a better tighter fit.
