10W40 initially, then 20W50 - still have the light. 

I have seen that thread too.  I was talking specifically about the grooves Mark mentions rather than the holes.

Aha, I seen them somewhere, probably in Mark's book. They are just dremel made little grooves on the inner surface, they make the drilled holes look like little stars.

But seems like your problem is somewhere else.

"Too low oil pressure at idle" .... This can be too low idle. My engine like 1200 rpm or more Up to 1400 rpm is OK. Lamp can blink at 1000 rpm.
Cam will suffer with too low idle. My engine has fresh o-rings and rebuilt oil pump.
