Topic: Who is GOOD at MATH *Exhaust Pipe Wrapping*

I was never good at math.
My math teacher passed me cuz im cute...now handsome.
True story!
Im wrapping my pipes, for better or worse.
4 into 1 exhaust. Only wrapping to where they join the chrome part.
Each exhaust pipe is 2"wide and 21-23inches long.
How my wrap will I need? Is 50' enough?

2πr = Circumference. Times that by inches in length and you'll be in the ballpark.

2 x 3.14 x 1 = Circumference

Circumference x Length = how much wrap you will need for each pipe.

Maybe use 1.5 for your radius, just to give yourself some extra leeway. Better to be long than short.

Suggestions:
Prep the exhaust well.  de-rust and paint, to prevent more rust.  wrap will hold moisture.
Soak the wrap.  its easier to work with.
Wear gloves.  its itchy 
Wrap from above the collector up to the header on #'s 1,2,3 and secure with stainless zip ties. Do these first.
Wrap #4 last, since its visible and on the outside of your bike.... from the collector all the way to up to the top of the header...so it covers the collector, and hides the start hose clamps for 1,2,3.
Go for a long ride and burn-off all the moisture.   itll steam like youre on fire

Thanks but when I said I wasnt good at math i wasnt kidding. So how many feet of wrap do I need? That the answer im looking for lol.

50' is plenty. Assuming you overlap around 1/8" per wrap, you would use a little less than 30' on the 4 pipes, then another 5 or so feet at the collector.

The stuff is going to move over time.  Tight wraps @ 3/4" +/- overlap is best so there is no separation.
50' is plenty.

3/4" overlap does sound better, I didn't think about movement. I just guessed at 1/8" overlap, never wrapped any before.

You have to figure out pitch or lead for each time around.
How far it advances along  the pipe gets calculated. Into the length.
So 4 times around in 6 inches is 16 times in 24 inches.. And each wrap is approx 1.7 x 3.14 inches long.

Jumped a year in math in high school, was take ng grade 12 math when I was 15 yrs old....
Alas though As easy as math 8 was, the 12 just did not work for me..

 This is pretty much exactly how I've always done it. Wetting it allows it to A) stretch a bit when installing, and B  ) shrink for a tight fit when it dries.
 It helps to have a friend or an extra set of hands, too.

 And, yes...it's very itchy,  and it will smoke and stink for several rides.

 I always did it somewhere in between; about 3/8" - 1/2" overlap. I guess it's just personal preference. Pick a width that you like and think looks good.

Oh, and there's absolutely NO WAY to do it on the bike. You have to remove the header. Order four new exhaust gaskets when you order the wrap.

I personally would get enough wrap. Too little isn't enough. Too much and you'll have some left over. I'm sure it will look great.

Why do they call it "Titanium" when it has no connection to titanium at all. Did you ever try and find on the manufacturers sites what actually benefit you will get from wrapping your pipes, none have those results because they are usually negligible at best. Titanium wrap is made from crushed lava and and not fiberglass like others, it doesn't shrink and doesn't soften from being wetted before installation.
