I started this question last week in the regular forum but it's more for the performance guys. E bay 836 kit, Kenny Harmon F cam, mild port job and chamber smoothing on a k4 head, new stock valves, APE springs, etc, yoshi style 4--1 pipe with baffle and early 4 cable carbs with 130's. It's got awesome midrange and I haven't really got into the rpm's yet, my tach is a bit iffy.
I just put on a pamco that was previously also on a K4 so I swapped the advancers and it timed out and advanced as it should stock. I also found an early advancer from a K0 with the deeper notches for more advance and an F2 advancer. My question is, as a rule of thumb would more advance be useful on this motor, and what RPM should I be seeing it begin and be all in by? Hondaman spring mod?
I have an old goldwing for cruising and a stocker for styling. This is for having fun on. Cooling and mileage are not a factor and I have regular access to race gas. We had a 383 small block chevy that loved 41 degrees timing so I know engines are all different. 684 hp on gas.
