Low wide bars on a CB750 -anyone done it?
« on: November 20, 2006, 11:52:45 AM »
Hi all,
Now that my K2 cafe is complete, I am thinking of my next project and was thinking of a "lowrider" type setup. I have seen a set of WIDE (42`) handlebars with 2` rise at Cycyle exchange  - go here - http://www.cyclexchange.net/Handle%20Bar%20Page.htm and was wondering if anyone has these bars on a bike or has a pic of one as Im not sure how its going to look. Anyone have any pics?

thanks
Andy

...hey Andy, go here:

http://www.hondachopper.com/choppers.html

...there is a little sub menu when you move the  mouse to the left side of the screen with about 105 different 750's.  You can find just about any size, shape, stretch, or whatever there...

Greg over at Ohio Cafe Racers recently finished his CB550 cruiser project.

Might be good to checkout for ideas for your next scoot...

Thanks guys for the links and mention of Gregs cool ride which I had seen already and like the ideas there. However his bars are a little less wide than I was thinking and so will take Lumbees advice and see if I cant find a pic on Hondachoppers.com. For the moment its just an idea....I met a guy from LA who had built a very cool lowrider CB750 and rode with us from LA to New Orleans -his bike had the lowering blocks, wide bars, forks lowered a little, clean look up front and cool to ride - gave it a different feel. Anyway thanks for the replies.

cheers
Andy

...ahh, I was SOHCless at that time!  ::)  Is this the trip where you threw a chain going north on I-59 on the way back to boston?  Bud told me about that one.   ;)

Ah no it wasnt on the 2004  trip I threw the chain - that was on the 2001 Trans-USA-Mexico trip...the Tsuabaki o-ring chain finally gave up after 16,000 miles and came off the back sprocket - no damage was done and the gallant Bud drove 90 miles from New Orleans with a chain from his bike - what a guy! In 2004, while riding up I-59 after the Easy Rider trip and after having left Buds place, I got a rear tire puncture (within 5 miles of Purcell and the same spot I got a front tire puncture in 2001!! I hate i-59!!  >:( And again the gallant Bud, drove out and helped me fix the puncture! I tell you, I owe Bud big time!
