Our state legalized go on red for mc's. First is that often a MC won't have the mass to trip the green light sensor and I think the most important reason is they get on down the road instead of in the intersection for  stuff like this.

I'd sure love it if more motorists would just 'CLEAR' those intersections ! You would think they could at least make an effort to work together w/ eye-contact,etc. to get out of 'parking mode'  ::)

Washington has a caveat to this.  Rider has to wait for crossing lanes to cycle thru green and red without a change in their lanes signal before they get a free pass.
