Tell me about 250-400cc enduro bikes
« on: July 14, 2016, 10:23:59 AM »
I recently sold my CL100 and my CB1000C, and am looking into possibly getting an enduro bike for around town and some offroad funtimes. I didn't grow up on dirt bikes and have zero knowledge of what models are good, what to avoid etc. Can y'all provide some general guidance?

it all depends on how serious you are going to get off road , if you really want to go for it i would recommend a ktm two stroke , they are light powerful and well made
but if your only after a bit of fun there are plenty of good Japanese four strokes that are easier to live with .

I recommend you to try some different bikes both 2 and 4 stoke. Is it for dirt only or some Road use ? Look at ktm exc 400/450 Yamaha wr400 / xtz660 or Honda xr650

Mostly road I'd imagine. I do vintage trials now (TL125 ftw!) so most of the time I'm in the woods on that thing. This would be more for around town with the occasional offroad detour.

The XR Hondas were meant for off-road use only, while their XL brothers were dual purpose machines. There were 200, 250, 350, 500, 600, and 650 sizes at one time or another.

I should also mention: looking for something at least from the 90s, if not newer.
