Looking for a mechanic san fernando valley
« on: July 01, 2016, 08:19:55 PM »
Hey guys, I am in a bit of a delima, Ive got a 75 cb500t that needs replacement rings, I know this is not the easiest job in the world but its also not that complicated. My issue is that every shop ive been to that will give me a quote says 1200-1500 and eveybody points to the pile of bikes lined up and says they don't know how soon it will be done. Is there a shop or local mechanic that can help me out, I have no problem playing 1200 bucks but honestly I'm not gonna pay that much and be told, it'll be done when it gets done.  Id like to get it finished within the next two weeks, so if anybody has any leads on somebody who is not swamped let me know.

Is this not a job that you feel capable of doing? You're right, its not that complicated. You'd spend FAR LESS even if you have to buy a few tools to perform the work. And you should be able to do it within a weekend from start to finish even if its new territory for you.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
