Picked Up On This One, In A Trade, Just Have To Finish It.
« on: November 15, 2016, 04:21:12 PM »

Managed to put it in my avatar. It is a 1969 SL350K0, that I got, in a trade with my close friend, here in Arkansas. Needs a few parts (though not many), Paint job, seat cover & foam, 1 spark plug wire cap & some odds & ends. I did have a nice SL350K2, but I ma getting to where I have a time kick starting a motorcycle and so, since the SL350K0 has the electric starter, we worked out a trade, that was suitable to both of us.  ;)

Also, I have a set of "Reproduction Side Covers" that my Buddy threw in with the deal.

Another photo of the SL350K0. Not trying to make it a Prime Restoration, mind you. Just want to have a decent one.

If it has 2 good exhaust pipes your half way home on the resto. I had one years ago for awhile that I bought at an auction. I always liked that model and good ones seem hard to find unlike the road and scrambler 350 examples. Enjoy the toy !

Yeah, it is mostly there. Those pipes are in pretty good shape. I do need to get the shields that go to them though, eventually. The SL350K2 I had, was in great shape and had a perfect set of pipes on it. But I would not have felt comfortable getting Off Road with it, because of the value of those pipes and I have a harder time kick starting one now day. So, with the K0 model, I can still get out and plunk around in the woods. I DO have another K2, but not as nice as the one I did have (have had it for some time now). Probably end up passing the K2 on to my StepSon, Shane

Looks like a pretty decent one Bill. Always been a fan of the SL bikes from Honda. I had a red 1971 SL175 when I was a young teen.

Thank you, I feel pretty good about it. I hear yo, Only, I was in the Air Force, when the SL350K0 came out (I was discharged in Aug, 1970). I kind of kept up with the changes, from 1 year to another, but realized just a few years ago, when I ended up with a nice K2, that there were a lot more changes than I realized. Also saw that Honda was working to keep the SL alive, while the others were going mainly to 2 stroke models. And Honda finally gave in and the XL250 & 350 were released, along with their 2 stroke counterparts (my terminology). The SLs, all sizes, in my opinion, were pretty cool rides.  ;)

I had forgot Bill but some years ago I went and looked at a 1970 or 71 SL350 and I almost got it. But it was missing the hard to find factory pipes and the owner wouldn't negotiate on price so I walked. Now that I look back at it I probably should of bit the bullet and got it :-\

. I know what you mean, about that. I also forgot that I had an SL350 quite a few years back, but for the life of me I can't remember much except must have been a later model than a K0, as it didn't have the electric starter, so possibly was a K1. Had pretty good power though.
