K2 transmission compatible with K6?
« on: July 03, 2016, 09:23:40 AM »
Hi Team, I have a lead on a transmission for my CB750 K6, but want to make sure it is going to be compatible. Planning on replacing the entire mechanism, not just the wounded parts. The engine Im looking at had the serial e-2021898 seller thinks its a 74, but i think it may be a 72 going by the serial #s reference here http://www.sohc4.net/cb750k-serial-numbers/ . My engine # is e-2461618, so again, if I'm reading it right, it is indeed a 76 that does match the year of my bike (not the original engine however). Can anyone out there confirm that my facts are right regarding serials and more importantly, would it be a clean swap of the transmission. Thanks for your assist

Yes this can be done no problem.  You need the main transmission shaft and the counter shaft cluster too for it to work.
