Hi Paul, I'm just down the road in Burton on Trent, spent a bit of time around Leek when my aunt lived in Whetley Rocks.

Hi to all
I'm new to the group having just acquired a '72 CB350F and a '76 CB400F.  I'll post some pictures when I'm familiar with the site and where to post stuff.  Are there any UK meets for SOHC 4 owners?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,
I don't know about specific meets for SOHC 4 owners but there's a new Classic Bike Meet at the Bridge Farm Tearoom in Wray village (near Lancaster and Devil's Bridge) on the 1st Thursday of each month starting at 7.00 pm.

The previous meetings have been well attended with around 60 bikes turning up.
The tearoom is open for the event with a good selection of food available.

Might see you there in July ??

Pop in to www.sohc.co.uk as we are always discussing UK meets (but never actually doing it...)

Hi Mark, you should get most problems answered quickly if you post in 'SOHC/4 Bikes' section, best keeping 'Project Shop' to keep people updated on what you are doing and 'Bikes & Parts Wanted' doesn't seem to get many answers in my experience. Good luck with it, I have a 400f so not really able to help you much. For exploded drawings, bolt sizes, use an official parts fiche like someone told you about already, I use Western Hills Honda you could also use CMSNL in the Netherlands.

Hi all,

Just discovered this part of the forum, and thought I'd introduce myself!

I've recently bought a 1978 CB550F2, and am currently in the middle of giving her a bit of a tidy-up before summer. I'll post a pic when she's back in one piece, currently have bits and pieces off being chromed etc...

I'm based in Hampshire (Ringwood, if anyone knows the area), any other SOHC'ers around here? Would be good to meet up with anyone in the area, have to try and outnumber the Triumph boys I normally ride with!

Here's the 550 as she was when I bought her:

Nice bike Steph. Still got the standard pipes?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Thanks! :D

I've been very fortunate with the pipes, the set that was on the bike when I bought her had a dent in one of the downpipes, but I happen to know someone who runs a business making exhaust pipes and silencers for classic British bikes, and he agreed to make me a stainless steel exhaust system that's an exact copy of the original... It looks stunning and fit beautifully first time! He's kept my original exhaust system as a pattern, so he may even consider making more of them in the future.

We need to see a pic of the stainless system, must have cost a packet.   :o Your picture just pointed out to me how badly I need fork ears.  :'(
