Back in Business!
« on: January 25, 2007, 05:36:09 PM »
Hey everyone!

Well... its been 3 years since my wife sold my last bike at her garage sale (she said I didn't have time to ride it anyways since we had small kids), I finally got another one!  Instead of the usual "cruiser", I found a 1974 CB550 that I had to have!  I referred to SOHC4 a few times before I bought and found great information and helpful, informative replies from its members!  Way to go!

The CB550 is in awesome shape - Speedo reads 4300 miles - runs well and sounds great!  It looks about 8 years old, not 33!  I was just amazed at how clean this thing was!  Now I just have to wait for the snow to melt!  Only thing I need to find for it is a new fuel cap gasket, airbox/tool tray for under the seat.  I got some new tires and tubes on order, new mirrors ordered and that should do it before I can hit the road!

Anyways, I look forward to being a helpful contributor to the forum, but it might take me a few years to start tinkering on the bike and learn something before I spout off!  lol

Anyways - thanks!

Wow!!! That is one sharp 550, it looks like it`s been sitting in someones living room for 33 years.
So did you give them a 3 year crash course on life and send them out into the world? ::)  ;D

LOL - no, the kids are still here.  So is the wife - and she's ticked off that I came home with another bike!

Oh well, she'll get over it!

I'll just have to to hit the highway when garage sale season starts.

welcome greg

tell her that if she sells this one you're gonna sell her!  to the lowest bidder!  i'm glad you came around, the spineless ones that never realize they can say "yes, i AM going to have a motorcycle" are the ones that tick me off.

that 550 is beautiful... i haven't seen a candy orange that i like but, to see it in such pristine condition makes me eat my words.

Thats right Killer Canary!  You guys up north got blasted - 2 or 3 people even lost there lives right in the city.

We had nothing down south. Not a snow flake.

This winter, so far, has been pretty good - except now I have a bike to stare at in the garage.  Now the remaining 2 months of winter will feel like 5.

I came across this site last night - havne't had time to check it out.

(Thought I would through it in for the priarie people.)
