What is this, the 1930's all over again.  I've never seen so much propaganda in one thread.

See the thing with seeds is that no farmer can control cross pollination.  So farmer A has a bag heirloom seed that has been passed done from generation to generation.

Farmer B buys Monsanto GMO seed.  We'll the bees and the wind don't know the difference and cross pollination occurs contaminating farmer A heirloom seeds turning them Monsanto seed.

The evil part is Monsanto has a massive seed police force that goes on farmer A's land without farmer A's permission and takes samples to a lab has them tested and sure enough they will have Monsanto's tweeked genes in them.

They are a billion dollar company and have an army of lawyers to smash down the little guy.  Cal I can't believe you think this is good. 

Maybe clubbing baby seals and beating up on women and children is ok too?  I mean everything is a fair fight right?

I've got a moral for you: The world owes you nothing. You have the right and freedom to pursue your dreams. Your success is NOT guaranteed. So stop whining, and get out of your little comfort zone and pursue your dream instead of abasing those who have made their fortune. Without entrepreneurs and capitalists, you would not have a job, a car, a computer, the motorcycle you cherish, medical care, nothing.

Yeah, I see the civility shining through.


The topic has wandered all over the place and it's pretty clear all are talking past each other.  The topic of discussion was Amazon's abuse of small retailers by not policing Chinese knockoffs.

To that point I still believe that there is very little they can do about beyond discussing the matter with the Commerce and State Departments.

China does not exist to prop up the US consumer and if they can undermine our economy by not clamping down on pirating - they will, all the while claiming they're powerless.
