exhaust question

does anyone know if 1978 cb750k exhaust hm405 (4-4) fit the earlier 1976 cb750 k?

Others will know more specifically but generally the '69 thru '76 CB-750's have mostly interchangeable parts and the '77 & '78 models were a redesign with a lot of differences. I do not believe they are a "bolt on" swap.

The header pipes will fit the engine. The footpeg mount holes are in a slightly different spot, though. And, the foot brake might scratch across the side of the #4 pipe, or the kickstarter may hit it during kick. The later pipes stand out from the center of the bike a little more, because the mufflers were considerably larger than on the earlier bikes.

The older HM 300 fits a K6 very well. Sound is awesome too when the diffusers are were they should be....on a shelf in the garage..not in exhaust :-)
