Retro Rocket, you have GOT TO BE KIDDING. Google Pamco Ignition Problems, there are dozens upon dozens of complaints about this unit. To his credit, Pamco Pete is an honorable person, who it seems, refunds or exchanges without question, but this unit seems to have a very rocky reliability record. Seeing how long you've been a forum member, I find it hard to believe this is the FIRST problem you've ever heard.

Seems like people who know what they are doing do not have problems with Pamco. But I guess it is easier to blame the product - which I have the best experience with and there are many other forum members who run Pamco for years with 0 issues - than blaming yourself.
#1 You don't know the first thing about what I know. As a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for Continental / United Airlines for 28 years, I have a pretty sound mechanical background.
#2 PamcoPete knows what problems I've had with my unit, and agreed that a replacement was in order.
I don't think he replaces every unit until he's satisfied that there is a problem with it.
There's countless cars on the road that run without problems, yet a small percentage get recalled due to known factory issues. Not every one that rolls off the assembly line will have those issues, but some do. Same thing here. I wish I was in the lucky majority that had a trouble free unit, but it didn't turn out that way.
Just because your unit was trouble free doesn't mean there aren't any sold without issues.
To his credit, PamcoPete is great about warranty issues.
That being said, I'd love to park my bike next to yours, and let any experts look at the builds, especially the wiring, and compare the quality of the work.
