CR750 Replica Battery - Position
« on: July 12, 2016, 01:17:47 PM »
Hi Guys
First post on .net! Normally active on SOHC.uk but I think there's a greater experience of the CR750 Rep over on your side of the pond. I'm building a road based CR replica and I'm just at the stage of modding the frame to adapt the standard frame to take the alloy tanks.  The central alloy tank obviously means moving the battery and this is where I need some guidance. I know that most CR reps have the battery under the seat hump but there's not much room and I guess its a small battery.  I still want to use the starter motor if possible (can't be bothered with all that kicking lark even if it is easy on Honda's!).
Any info or guidance/pics much appreciated before I start hacking chunks off the frame.
Phil

The modern LiFE batteries from Shorai and Ballistic should be small enough to hide and still provide sufficient juice to use the electric start unless you go crazy with the engine compression.
