1970 Cb750K0 Paint Match-up
« on: July 11, 2016, 04:03:32 PM »
Hey Guys! I'm currently in the process of doing a resto-mod on my 70 model K0. I plan on painting everything myself but not sure on what paint brand or color code to go with. The bike was originally Candy Ruby Red. Looking for a paint close or spot on to original without braking the bank! Thanks Everyone! :D

Most body shops can match the honda paint. I had the Sherwyn Williams formula for candy blue green and have had candy ruby red painted too. they shot it with a color gun and it came out 1970 honda motorcycle.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Ditto on the VMR kit. Did my 75 here, easy to use and fantastic results if your comfortable using spray cans.

With spray bombs, be sure to use Spraymax 2k Clear over it.  I applied clear 12 hours later.
Great fuel resistance.  One can will do a tank and covers.
I did 6 coats of clear on my 550 tank (left a big overlap at the filler hole) and 3 coats on the covers.
I wet sanded from 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000....
This is the tank after fine cut cleaner.  Still needs to be polished.
