Turn Signal Not flashing beyond Range A - 1976 CB750F
« on: July 11, 2016, 07:15:13 PM »
The user manual states when turn signal switch is moved within range A (slightly each side of centre position) , the turn signal flashes. This works correctly on both Right and Left signals and the signal flash.

When moving the switch beyond this range the turn signal should flash and the warning buzzer sounds.

However what happens is the signal stop flashing and I hear no buzzer on both Left and Right. I have heard the buzzer occasionally. Any ideas? I've sprayed the switch inside with electrical contact cleaner.

You may have a shorted buzzer. Try unplugging it to see if the lights work correctly then?

My guess is a bad ground or a dirty connector.  Try a temporary supplemental ground wire and see if things flash better.

Another user has a similar issue - signal would flash if half pushed, but not fully pushed. Found the problem in the wiring.

Re: Turn Signal Not flashing beyond Range A - 1976 CB750F - Working but...

So I disconnected the wires connected to the buzzer inside the headlight shell as suggested and the turn signals now both work correctly in the full on position.

Why would disconnecting the buzzer make the turn signals work? Does this suggest the buzzer is not grounding correctly?
