Lost the Tachometer Read
« on: July 12, 2016, 11:53:48 AM »
Hey all,

My tachometer reading dropped off the other day. When pulling the chord out and trying to re-install...I can't figure out whether or not the male and female end connectors inside the chord and the engine are actually contacting correctly, whether it's a bad chord somehow, or whether or not it's something else that's outside of my range of knowledge.

It also appears as if the female end inside the chord itself may be pushed back into the chord by the male end attached to the cam inside the engine when pushing the chord inside the housing...there's just no way for me to tell.

Any help or tutorials you may know of would be awesome, as I can't find much online about actually re-installing the chord to the 750 specifically.

Thanks!

It's pretty common for old original tach cables to break. I've replaced just about every one of mine because they've snapped. Speedo cables too.

^^^That^^^

Take it out, chances are it will come in three pieces, the outer and the inside cable snapped in two.
