oil leak under trans cover
« on: July 12, 2016, 05:03:10 AM »
Hey all, I was working on my newly rebuilt 1975 750k the other night and left the left side transmission cover off over night. Bike was left on the center stand. When I got back to it a few days later there was a fair amount of oil on the floor and on the left side pipes. Any ideas where it may be coming from, or could this be normal? My guess right now is that little o-ring may not of seated well or was the wrong size even though it was a Honda part. Any comments or thoughts are welcome. Thanks

Mark

Thats normal, the shifting linkage needs oil too, thats why the transmission cover is installed with a gasket.

Thanks for the replies. Nice to know at least this oil leak isn't a problem.
