Petcock modification to fuel outlet
« on: July 05, 2016, 03:22:37 PM »
Finished my CB350F but the CB750K fuel petcock interferes with the choke. I need to move the downward fuel outlets to the side so that the choke functions properly. There is currently a hole for this but it is plugged with some kind of metal bead. Could I drill this out and glue a new brass outlet in its place and then plug the downward fuel outlets with a similar metal bead?

I think it's like this. Start off with a hole, fit the ball then press the metal in till it reforms and locks the ball in place.
The hose barbs (brass outlets), and the hole it fits into,  have slight taper, then when the brass goes in they tap it together, and the tapers hold against each other.
You may be able to tap the body, but may only have room for 1/16 npt.
Might be easier to look for other petcock type, and or weld in a new bung.

 Glue in, no.
