Broken tab on emulsion tube/jet set.... does it matter?
« on: August 04, 2016, 07:21:07 PM »
Working on a set of carbs from a '73 CL350, marked 722A KI, I believe.

The jet/emulsion tube for the primary(?) main jet....the smaller of the two....has a broken ear or tab. Is that bad? Will it cause a problem?

Is that the un-numbered part on the carb diagram?
Personally I'd want to replace it, however I suspect the only source would be a donor carb.

Now, would it make a difference if you used it? I don't know, possibly not.

According to CrazyPJ, the resident CB350 carb guru, he says it should be fine as long as the main jet seats against it properly.
It's not an un-numbered part, but it is sold as part of a jet set including a main jet, O-ring, etc. There's a couple on eBay for $19 ea (just for the tube) but I won't spend that if I don't have to.

He's probably right. Give it a try.
