"high idle" + "banging" sounds like an air leak causing detonation.
Pull all 4 plugs and look for golden brown. If you see whitish like it was super hot, could be detonating.
I think I heard the clanging towards the end of the video.
Another thing to check would be:
- correct spark plugs? This is a real 'edge case' because if a spark plug is incorrect and is too long and the piston is hitting it, the mechanical sound would be constant I believe
- check valves -- could hit the piston if way out of adjustment
But 'high idle' to me sounds like an air leak, *assuming* the idle adjust knob on the carbs is adjusted for 1000rpm idle. If you have an air leak you could have an overly-hot cylinder leading to detonation.
It's pretty surprising how 'mechanical' detonation sounds.
