Hey, Terry, how's that beastie running?
I'm almost done with the first 2 ignition units.
G'Day Mark, well I'm very sick today, it's Monday here and I'm so sick I had to stay home from work and ride my K1 Kruiser over to my local bike shop and get it inspected for roadworthiness, so I can take it to the Oz version of your DMV so I can get it registered on Thursday, anyway it (just) passed the inspection, Jeff the inspector wasn't too keen on the loud pipe and the home-made chain guard, (the 150 rear tire negates the OEM item) not to mention the braided brake lines, but eventually, he couldn't stand watching a grown man crying like a little girl and eating dirt, so he gave me my "green slip" and told me to bugger-off, Woohoo!
I got home and parked it when I went inside for a cold drink (it's 100 deg F outside today) but when I walked back outside, there was oil under the engine? Shiite! I checked around the head gasket, sump-plug,oil filter, oil-tank plug etc, but no leak, and as I scratched my head in abject confusion, I saw oil on the points cover? Huh? Then I realised that the rubber bung on my crappy 60 psi oil pressure gauge had blown out? Ha ha, no problemo, I had a new 100 psi item in a box, so I've swapped that out, and it's oil tight again! I'm looking forward to fitting your ignition mate, the weather here will stay warm and dry for the next 3 months or so, then I'll be able to test it on those chilly 60-70 deg F winter days! Cheers, Terry.
