Hi from Bothell, WA
« on: June 30, 2016, 08:47:57 AM »
Hi,   I have been riding motorcycles for 52 years now.  I currently ride my Honda Blackbird CBR1100XX for multi-day trips with a local sport touring group. Still feel young and healthy and still ride aggressively where appropriate.

In the 70s I owned mostly twin cylinder Hondas but the 74 CB550 caught my eye. In the 80s, I rode s Yamaha 650, a Midnight Maxim 750, a Suzuki 600, a Honda cb900 Custom. In the 90s and 2000's,  I mostly rode a Goldwing and Venture Royale touring bikes and then migrated over to a 98 Blackbird and now a RED Blackbird. I liked them all ... for different reasons.

Now, I like to buy a NON-running vintage bike and restore it back to running condition and clean it up a bit to look nice, if possible. I just bought a 75 CB550 and working to get it going after sitting around rusting and not running since 2001. My technical knowledge is barely enough to get by on this restoration and I just got it running 2 days ago .... but not running very well. Kinked fuel line was one of the suspected culprits. Anyway, I decided I needed to join a Honda forum to gather more info and maybe ask a few questions to people way smarter than me. Very glad this group exists!
