Changing primary hub needle bearing
« on: July 24, 2016, 02:38:26 PM »
Hello!
I have a cb 750 - 72 that has developed a whine in the transmission. I rebuilt the top and bottom end this winter and has only done about 400-500 miles since together this summer including break in. I noticed the whine right away but couldnt remember if my last cb 750 sounded the same and i hadnt ridden the bike before the rebuild. I think it has become louder so im gonna pop the case again and change all the bearings in the transmission since i didn't do it last time. They all felt good and since they are so overbuilt and the fact that they swim in oil i tought it wasn't necesary. Oh well.. :)

Ive been able to find all the bearings except the one in the primary hub/axle. Im talking about this needle bearing inside the hub:

Anyone know the numbers on this one? Id like to have all the parts ready upon dissasembly so i can get it back together quick enough!

Regards

Found this after some searching, answers my question and more. Always having a hard time searching old threads on this forum but I found that google with the key word and "sohc4" usually works better! :)
