A friend and used to work on older tube guitar amps but not any more. Never did receivers or tv's or the like.

Got my Uni foam and finished the air cleaner. Got a little bumpy on my powder coating though.

A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750. 
  550 Snowbike -Somebody had to do it.

Thanks rb550 I just hope it works ok! I'm thinking maybe I will need to support the carb set rather than just being held by the rubber boots or I'll those be enough?

  I'm thinking you'll be good with the rubber manifold connectors holding the weight of the filter, your unit can't weigh any more than pods, and we haven't heard of anyone loosing a rack of carbs on the road because the pods were too heavy , so that won't be a problem.
  As for the weight of the unit on the back end of the carbs , they are clamped onto the carbs in 4 places distributing the weight across all 4 carbs. The only thing that would make it a question in my view would be the condition of the rubber connector to the air box. Are they old factory ones with big lips surrounding the  airbox carb openings and stiff ?  Or are they really soft aftermarket replacements that fit a little loose ?
 I'm thinking that if you are worried about it rattling off  you would probably should  mount a strip that would connect the rearmost of your filter probably at the powder coated aluminum  air inlet cover to the forward 6mm /10mm head bolt on the top of the frame, under the seat,behind the rear tank mount You may be using it to bolt in the electric tray...is it possible to use the stock airbox mounts under the electric tray at the forward position to catch a secure a spot on the new airbox by securing it under the frame with a longer bolt so it doesn't disturb the tray? I think if it worries you it should be addressed. You are doing a beautiful job on this build , it has been worth the wait.

all it takes is a loop of safety wire to help support carbs when the stock airbox is not used.  Just a little extra support to prevent carbs from bouncing and making extra stress and wear on the carb boots long term.  It will work fine without, but for how long?

airbox looks great btw, nice job!

Thanks rb and 41 the rubbers are all new and fit tight to the airbox. I think I'll add a small strap at the airbox just for insurance.

Long time between posts for me this is where I am at now. Waiting on a Tarozzi fork brace that I will probably have to modify when I get it.

Did a little rewiring and eliminated 2 relays that I added to correct a problem I caused when I made the indicator panel wrong . I redid correctly the indicator panel leds then removed the relays that were needed to fix my first mistake . Should have been more careful about looking at the original schematic.

I've been looking for a Tarozzi fork brace that fits and it's not listed for my year looked all over had one on order from caferacerweb shop but after 2 months I have given up may not have been the right one anyway. I found the fast from the past fitment chart and looked for one that had the right size clamps so I could build my own bridge out of aluminum bar stock. This is the hard maple mock up . I will be rounding the top I think and cutting down the mounting tabs also. I may drill some lightening holes for looks. I have the aluminum bar stock on order.

Got the form brace bridge fabricated,powder coated and installed. I used a metal cutting band saw to rough out the 3\4" x2" aluminum bar stock, a wood working router to round over the edges, belt sander to take out the saw marks and the drill press for all the holes. I powder coated in satin black from Columbia Coatings may do the Tarozzi clamps in satin black at some point for a color match. I think it looks a little chunky from the back but it's definitely a stronger part than the Tarozzi bridge plate.
