I will say though, if you're going to ride a Harley - best to have a good, reliable 750 Four motivating it. I bought the 1st 2004 Sportster in my area. They advertised it with it's 120 changes and 1st ever "rubber mounted" engine. 1 month after buying it brand new I hated it, 8 months after buying it I sold it with 2,200 miles for $50 less than I'd paid for it. Goes to show 2 suckers fell for the junk.
My beef was with the clutch and transmission. It would "clunk" so hard when going into 1st that I feared something was going to shear off inside. The transmission just never followed comand, it was hard to shift up and down, the bike shook worse than a 650 Yamaha, and had almost no ground clearance. I live in the mountains and turns are my passion. I'd bought it to put around on, it was relatively cheap (for a Harley) and it looked good in all black. Too bad the engineering improvements weren't incorporated in any of those 120 changes.
