Front brake piston seat pad?
« on: July 28, 2016, 01:39:15 PM »
As I took my caliper apart and finally removed the stuck brake pad I realized there is no piston. That's fine cause I have a new piston and seal laying around. But I realized I'm missing the pad that goes on top of the piston between the brake pad and piston. Part number 45151300000. They seem to be hard to find, how necessary are these guys? Thank you

creates a bit of a cushion there.  reduces vibration/squeal.

But I don't believe that I can use that in place of, only in addition to that cap correct?

One pad in the link goes behind the inboard, stationary pad,
If you have a hollow piston, with the domed cap, just put some dow corning high temp vacuum grease in the center of the pad backplate where it contacts the dome.  No need for a pad on this side.
