CB750 Engine year compatibility: 1972 into a 1976 K6?
« on: July 29, 2016, 01:49:54 PM »
Well, I found a donor transmission (from a 74 cb750)for my pooched CB750 K6 transmission, just taking the donor apart and inspecting/cleaning it as well as practicing putting it back together blindfolded (not really), however, I may have found a full working engine from a 1972 that I could potentially just drop in so I can keep riding while repairing the original. Ifof course, the 72 is comparable. Does anyone have experience or insight into that....does a 7s have the same connections/attachment patterns/ratios as my existing K6. Thanks in advance

You may have to transfer the exhaust to head fittings otherwise all ok, ratios may be different slightly
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
