Just curious what members prefer to use when hanging on to these old pieces of iron.

Standard is 3" rise over here.  Only imports get those weird-lookin' high rise bars!

I replaced my factory bars with Euro bars with a 2.5" rise.  similar pullback to stock bars and I miss my tank by about 3/4" at full lock.

I dont think ape hangers work too well with the high gravity center these bikes have. I think you have to be riding with your ass on the ground to use apers.

i happen to have a set of i guess you would say mini apes im going to put on my panhead.i sat on my 750 with them and they seem to fit well,as i am a short guy and need the extra length to reach my short arms.they are,if i remember correctly, about 13 inches tall, the grip length is about 8 inches or so and they are about 6 inches across the middle.i noticed j c whitney as some close to that in 7/8,i may go that way.just my thoughts.

Well I guess mine must be the weird 6" rise as mine is an import and definately has higher bars than the british 400/4's  though I didn't think they were that high - where are you measuring from?

We're so lucky! When I bring a bike home, the hi-rises are the first thing to fly out the shed door. I despise them. They belong on harleys. Anybody want 'em?

Yes please! Actually the hardest bars to get here are the standard 6 inch rise bars, because most owners "chucked" 'em. I need a couple of pairs for my projects, Sean Condon is sending me a pair of OEM F2 bars for my "K9" project, but I need another pair for my K2 and another project I'm dreaming about at the moment, when of course, I should be working!

This should be a "multi answer" poll, because I've got several old bikes in my garage, so at the moment I've got five bikes with "superbike" bars (Suzuki GS1000S, GS1000E, GS750E, Honda CB750K2, cb750F2) one with "Pullbacks" (CB750K1) and I've got a nice set of "Telefix" multi adjustable clip-ons for my racer project. I think I've got a couple of pairs of "Clubmans" with the "gauge protector" bars in a big box in m y garage but I wasn't a fan then, nor am I now. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I swapped out (and kept, somewhere) the factory hi-rise bars for some $10 dirt bars that 'felt right'. I like the stance, but i havent got much road under this particular bike i'm working on yet. everything seems to work well. Incidentally, i put a set of " CB750" bars on my (former) yamaha '84 400 Maxim, and after some cable routing, they were much better than the pull backs the maxim came with.

I am running a set of 2'' rise "Daytona" style bars from Flanders.
Had a inch cut from each end to shorten them up a bit.
Very happy with the new look and ride , much better than the " Baby Ape's " that were on their before..

My 550 K3 came with fairly flat narrow bars, I dont know if they were std.on these bikes but I found the riding position uncomfortable, so I junked them and fitted some bars from an RD 400 yam ,these are higher and wider,I also think they improve the appearance of my bike.

The trouble with clubmans, clip ons etc, is that if you don't fit "Rear set" footpegs and controls, the riding position is uncomfortable, and just looks silly. Still I guess you can use your knees for armrests, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Currently have bars with a 14" pullback, can't stand my hands being in my lap while riding, so they've gotta go!  I'm thinking of going for some factory-type bars, something with less pullback anyway.
