At about 23 years old, this is his first build, and he pretty much did everything with his own hands (including fiberglass molding, top end engine rebuild, rewire and paint) except version 2 of his seat re-upholstery. Wow, I wish I could say the same! This guy gets a gold star for effort.

Hmm. In the spirit of friendly competition (since the Olympics are underway), I hereby nominate GV1390's (Gennaro's) Trattoria Resto-Mod Racer CB550

It features a Modern GSXR front, Refreshed 550 with 650 cam, C5 ignition, Kibblewhite valvetrain), CR26 carburetors, Hindle exhaust, Calfab swingarm, remote oil filter, Excel wheels, custom upholstered suede/leather Motolanna seat, hand-made tail light, rear-sets, custom/modified gas tank, vented rear brake, Cognitomoto triple tree with custom lights integrated into the top clamp, custom wiring (overseen by Cal!).

GV has put some serious sweat equity in along with some contributions from all-star fellow members like Cal, Hondaman, Christian, Nick at Anger Street.

Can I get a second?

most will be completed by the time we hit the hay for the night (in separate beds at separate locations, of course)

He has it running and has ridden it as evidenced in two videos (with him aboard).

There are some shakedown issues on his punchlist but it is complete and operating according to GV and BOTM Rule 8: "If the motorcycle is a rebuild or restoration, it must be at the completed stage and RUNNING. In the case of a show bike or museum piece, it will be at the Moderators decision to allow it into the competition and only providing that it was common knowledge that it was not intended to be a runner when it was nominated. Knowing many of these bikes are never finished in the owners eyes, we will take the owners word for it that it is in some form of completed stage."

So, yes, as Mod, I deem it eligible.

No matter the result; I'd really like to thank the above mentioned along with anyone that may not have been mentioned. Really couldn't do it without you guys. From Christian coming through making the tank, internal throttle, front end spacer/axle/etc, to Nick answering countless emails and spending countless 2am nights at the shop, to Cal answering a TON of questions and spending many minutes on the phone helping wire my bike to also HondaMan ensuring my swingarm was deemed safe to ride. I appreciate you all.

Let me be clear.

GV's bike has been represented to me to be in a state of completion and is running.

The lack of badges on the gas tank is not dispositive of completion, especially if the builder can't decide if he wants badges or not. I eliminated badges on my 750 and that did not make it incomplete. As the BOTM rule states, complete is somewhat of a subjective standard because builders/owners commonly tinker/tweak/tune/improve after initial completion. GV has a road-going bike as evidenced by videos of him riding it.

So, now that it has been nominated and seconded (and thirded, if that's even a word), it's up to GV to accept the nomination.

Someone PM'd me about photos in the Voting thread.

On the 16th, I will create a Poll for members to cast their vote for BOTM. The poll will include each bike's build thread (where available) and some photos that I could find from their build threads or other posts. If you want me to have photos to work with, please try to have them in your build thread. For those with a large number of photos, I will not use all of them in my original post. If you want to post additional photos in the polling thread, please feel free to do so.

I DO encourage the owners for the bikes nominated to post what I call a build summary -- describing what you started with, what work you did, what special parts your bike has, WHO helped you along the way (they deserved some credit and if professionals, it might help them too).

For facebook and other social media sharing, it would be much improved if the first three or four photos of the botm thread only featured the nominated bikes.This way when sharing on social media, for example, facebook, One would be able to choose their own or favorite pic...When I was nominated and shared on facebook, I was unable to use my photos, as the first several of the thread were of another bike...

Just save the pics to your computer and post them from there..?
